I want a professional deep-cleansing, with emphasis on hydration, acne management or anti-aging.
Facials

Facials are skin care treatments that include a skin analysis followed by a customized regimen of cleansing, gentle exfoliation, steam, masks, massage, and extractions when necessary. They can be used to maintain healthy skin or in conjunction with medical treatments to speed the skin’s healing from many unwanted conditions.

I want to manage facial or body hair.
Facial Waxing

Unwanted hair can be gently removed from the face. Our wax is formulated with chamomile and lavender, ingredients which are soothing for even the most sensitive skin. Repeat treatments as needed, usually every four to six weeks.

Laser Hair Removal

Eliminate unwanted hair safely and effectively on any part of the body. We use the Cynosure Elite MPX with both the 755 nm Alexandrite laser and the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser to treat unwanted hair on all skin types. A consultation is required prior to treatment. Treatments occur every 4-8 weeks. The number of treatments required varies from person to person, but 6 to 8 treatments is typical.

Brow and Lash Tinting

If your eyes are the window to your soul then your brows and lashes are the frames. Make your eyes stand out with tinting of the brows and lashes. This procedure will safely help define the brows no matter what color your hair is. Lash tinting is especially helpful for people with lighter colored lashes. The procedure is generally repeated every six weeks.

I want my skin to be more smooth and/or even-toned.
Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a superficial skin resurfacing procedure that is safe for all skin types. The skin instantly feels softer and smoother and there is no “downtime” after a treatment. Our device utilizes medical grade sodium bicarbonate crystals which are delivered to the skin at high speed then removed with gentle vacuum suction to exfoliate the outermost layers. The advantage of the baking soda crystals over traditional aluminum oxide crystals is that it is safer for the skin, eyes and mouth so we are able to perform a more complete treatment which includes skin of the lower eyelids and lips. For an even better result, this procedure may be followed by a chemical peel. A series of treatments is recommended for the treatment of acne, dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged or clogged pores, and scars.

Chemical Peels

Reveal new, healthy skin and peel away imperfections using acids to penetrate and exfoliate the uppermost layers of the skin. The acid or acids utilized are chosen by the aesthetician, under the direction and delegation of Dr. Barbosa, in consultation with the patient. The patient’s skin type, the condition being treated, and the patient’s tolerance for “downtime” are all considered in the selection of the right peel. Like microdermabrasion, chemical peels are effective in treating acne, discoloration, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged or clogged pores and scars. In addition, we offer peels especially for people with sensitive skin and those with rosacea. Each procedure works best in a series of 3 to 6 treatments. Our peels may be used safely on all skin tones, and may be combined with microdermabrasion in the same visit for enhanced results. Downtime ranges from zero to five days, depending on which peel is selected.

IPL Photofacial

Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL, is a technology that utilizes light to treat photodamage in fair-skinned patients. It is also useful for skin rejuvenation and for rosacea, redness, blood vessels and brown spots. Because it is a non-ablative technique, meaning that the epidermis is not damaged, there is virtually no recovery time. While each patient is different, most people require 4 to 6 IPL treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal treatment. Treatments take approximately 30-45 minutes and discomfort is minimal.

Fractional Laser Resurfacing

Improve the texture of your skin and treat signs of aging, acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks with our Cynosure Palomar Icon 1540 resurfacing laser. This technology forces collagen regeneration in some parts of the dermis while other parts remain intact to provide support. This treatment is non-ablative, meaning that the epidermis remains intact and there is no downtime. This procedure is safe for all skin types. Patients generally require 3 to 5 treatments for maximum benefit.

I want to reduce the lines that come with aging.
Botox and Dysport

Botox Cosmetic and Dysport are medications which treat moderate to severe wrinkles. They work by decreasing the movement of the muscles that cause lines to form at the forehead, glabella (frown lines), and eyes (crow’s feet). These medications are injected directly into the muscles by Dr. Barbosa using a fine needle with minimal discomfort. There is no down time, and results are noticeable within five to seven days. Results generally last three to six months.

Fillers

Restore the volume that the face loses over time using injectable fillers. Used most commonly for smile lines, they are also useful to replace volume at the mouth, cheeks, tear troughs and temples. Ice packs and small needles are used to minimize discomfort. Results are immediate and usually last six to nine months or more. Different types of fillers can be used. A consultation with Dr. Barbosa is needed to determine which type is best for you.
